Straight Talk, Expressed

OK, so this has nothing to do with Seattle, and only marginally anything to do with sports, but the money quote from Charles Barkley's interview with Campbell Brown--in which he announces his intent to run for governor of Alabama in six years--is too good to pass up:

Brown: So are you going to run for governor?

Barkley: I plan on it in 2014.

Brown: You are serious.

Barkley: I am, I can't screw up Alabama.

Brown: There is no place to go but up in your view?

Barkley: We are number 48 in everything and Arkansas and Mississippi aren't going anywhere.

Now that the Sonics are gone, the only thing about the upcoming NBA season is more Chuck. Awesome.

Is this interview written out phonetically?

"they've used cold words like welfare and things like that."

You have to love this kind of reasoning:

1) The president doesn't have a huge effect on people's lives.

2) George Bush has had a huge effect on people's lives.

Therefore, I guess, George Bush isn't president?

This made me laugh to myself. Then I read it again with Charles's voice in my head and I laughed out loud.
